About Us: WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE DOCTRINAL STATEMENTS of
LIFE IN ZION MINISTRIES, Inc.
are established on the Word of God.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by holy men of old, as they were moved (directed / inspired) by the Holy Ghost. We believe that the Bible is filled with promises and assurances and that in it there is direction and comfort for everyone’s life and for each of our situations that we face. II Peter 1:20, II Tim 3:16
         • .  We believe in the One God who is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent.
         •   Wherever God is the sponsor in the Word, we can have complete faith for He is the God that cannot lie. [Titus 1:2-3 (KJV) v 2. In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; v. 3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;]

We fully believe in the mystery of the Godhead according to I Timothy 3:16. We believed God chose to reveal himself through Jesus Christ and that he was both human and divine according to John 1: 1-14. We believe that He is revealed to us as Father in Creation, as Son in redemption and as the Holy Spirit that never leaves those who trust in him. Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, Matt 1:23. John 1:1,2, 1 John 5:6-7, Rev 19:11-16, 22:3
We believe in the virgin birth, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matt 1:18-23, 28: 1-9, Mark 16:1-8, Luke 24: 1-12, John 29:1-9, Matthew 28:1-10) We also believe that he ascended to heaven and left his Holy Sprit as the comforter. We believe that this power enables us to become overcomers and witnesses. It was also a confirmation of the out pouring of the spirit as prophesied by Joel. Isaiah 44:3, Joel 2:29, Luke 24::49, John 14: 16, 26, 15:26, 16:7; Acts 1:4, 2: 1-4.

We believe that every person desiring salvation must be born again of water, and of the Spirit according to the Scriptures (John 3:5). And, confession isn’t baptism; confession is to be made UNTO salvation. Our agreement (confession) is with the Lord, and New Birth consists of BOTH BAPTISMS: Water and Spirit (as Jesus directed us to do, being our Lord and Savior).

We believe that water baptism is essential for the new birth that John talked about in John 3. We believe in immersion of water through the baptism in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ as instructed in Acts 2:38 and that this scripture is the direct command of Matthew 28:19 to baptize in this manner. The scriptures clearly indicate that there is no other name by which men may be saved (Acts 4:1). Acts, which is the beginning of the church gives many instances where this baptism was used for example:
     •  Jews at Pentecost (Acts 2:38)

     •   Samaritans (Acts 8:16)

     •   Saul (Acts 9:15,6)

     •   Cornelius and his household (Acts10:43,48)

     •   John’s disciples at Ephesus (Acts 19:1-7)

We believe that through immersion in Water in His name that you share in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
      Romans 6:3 (KJV)

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were
baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
      Galatians 3:27 (KJV)

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

We also believe that speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance is the initial evidence of the indwelling Sprit and necessary component for the new birth. Jesus told Nicodemus that “the wind bloweth were it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whither it goeth; so is everyone that is born of the Spirit ( John 3:8).
We believe Acts 2:1-4 is proof of this experience as shown on the Day of Pentecost. Again the above examples are proof of this statement.

         • .  We believe in living a holy, sanctified life. For the bible states that without holiness no man can see the Father. (Hebrews 12:14;
I Peter 15-17)
         • .  We believe in the catching away of the saints (Rapture: the catching away of the dead and the living that remain in Christ, His church) to meet the Lord in the air.
(1 Thes 4:13,17)

We believe in divine healing according to the Scriptures, because “…with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5). We believe that those that are sick must “…call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up…” (James 5:14, 15). We do not disrespect, or disregard the availability of medical services and prescription drugs, but we do recognize that God is the divine source of all healing.

We believe in the sanctity of marriage for those individuals who have received Jesus Christ as the head of their lives. Marriage is symbolic of Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:23-25). We also believe that marriage is a lifetime commitment not to put asunder by any man save for the cause of fornication, or adultery (Matthew 19:9).

We believe in communion in commemoration of the death of Jesus Christ, for He states, “…this do in remembrance of me” (I Corinthians 11:24). We also observe foot-washing as an example of the humility and servitude of Jesus Christ as exemplified in St. John 13: 1-17
